Compress images

Make photos light enough for email, forms and web pages in seconds.

Files never leave your device. Photo metadata such as GPS location is removed in the output.

How much smaller?

A typical 3 to 5 MB phone photo drops to about 300 to 600 KB at 75% quality and 1920 px wide, with no visible difference on screen.

Picking settings

  • Auto keeps JPG photos as JPG and saves transparent PNGs as WebP for the smallest file.
  • Quality 70 to 80% is the sweet spot. Use 90% or more for print.
  • Max width 1920 px is plenty for most websites and chat apps.

Why it is private

ImgLite re-encodes images with your browser's Canvas API. Files are never sent over the internet, so ID scans and contracts stay on your device.

FAQ

Why does my PNG become WebP?
PNG is lossless, so lowering quality barely helps. Auto mode saves a much smaller WebP that keeps transparency. Pick PNG in Output format if you need it.
How many files at once?
No hard limit, but processing uses device memory, so batches of a few dozen work best.
What if the result is bigger?
Already optimized files are kept as the original.
